Course Overview

The IMDA Manufacturing Excellence Skillnet offers certified training tailored to the specific needs of the Irish Medical Devices and Diagnostics sector. The network is a non-profit organisation and only generates revenue to cover costs and match funding at 21.5%. Training is facilitated by a panel of expert trainers with a background of academic and industrial experience through shared learning, which helps to reduce costs and encourage companies to communicate with each other in order to benefit from the knowledge that is present across the sector.
The blended learning format is delivered via group session incl. break out sessions & practical tasks assisted by Powerpoint presentation and DVD material, and affording a great opportunity to learn from other company experiences. It is cost effective and delivered at a time and pace to suit your business needs and shift patterns.

The IMDA Manufacturing Excellence Skillnet Programme consists of the following 10 modules, each of two-hour duration:

Core Skills
1. Health and Safety
2. cGMP / Quality
3. Environment
4. Communications for Production (Env/Comm delivered in one training module)

Continuous Improvement (Lean & Six Sigma)
1. Introduction to Continuous Improvement
2. Value Stream
3. 5S and the Visual Factory
4. Problem Solving / Mistake Proofing
5. Control of Variances
6. Equipment Effectiveness & Performance (TPM, OEE, SMED)
7. Sustaining Progress
